Bandelier National Park

A picture from my view as we are driving

Bandelier National Park

Charlie

I am in one of the cliff dwellings

Hilda (the name of Charlie's bike) at Valles Caldera (collapsed volcano)

Charlie and I went for about a 210 mile (round trip) motorcycle ride to Bandelier National Park which is about an hour and a half north of Albuquerque. It is a canyon that has ancient cliff dwellings and the ride there was beautiful.
The area around Bandelier had recently received about 22 inches of new snow but the roads were clear. It did get a little cold for my liking but we had plenty of gear on so it wasn't too bad and it is nice to know we can ride year round.

Paper Chain of Excitement

Have you ever been so excited that you made a paper chain in anticipation of the event? Well, Charlie and I are going on a motorcycle trip in July and are really excited about it so we decided to make a paper chain. 143 rings. The light green is May, the salmon color is June and the dark green is July.....I know, we're crazy!

Rueben Pizza

If you enjoy Rueben's like Charlie and I do, try this Rueben pizza. It is yummy!
Rueben Pizza
One package of pizza dough (follow instructions on package)
Thousand Island Dressing
Corned Beef or Pastrami
Sauerkraut
Mozzarella Cheese
After spreading the dough on the pan add a layer of dressing. Take the sauerkraut and spread it all over the dressing and then add the corned beef or pastrami (I recommend that you shred it) and top with the cheese. Put the ingredients as thick as you want depending on your tastes.
Enjoy!!!

Cross Country Skiing

One of my many wipe outs

Charlie and me

While in Red River, NM, Charlie and I decided to take a shot at cross country skiing. It was a lot of fun, the weather was great, and we got a good work out at the same time. Since I am not the most coordinated person in the world, I wiped out a lot but luckily wasn't the only one.
It was definitely something I would try again and hopefully would get a little bit better.

Mardi Gras in the Mountains

Our room at the Elk Ridge Lodge (we both loved the lodge atmosphere)

Al Beard, Family and Friends Band from Louisiana

Lounge Group Vanilla Pop (they were awesome!)

Lead Singer of Vanilla Pop (notice the drawn on mustache)

The World's 2nd smallest Parade (only like 5 floats)

Crawfish Boil on Saturday night. Yummy!

Torch Parade down the Red River Ski Area
This weekend Charlie and I went to Red River, New Mexico to partake in the festivities of Mardi Gras in the Mountains. It was a great time and everyone was really nice. We watched some live music, witnessed the world's second smallest parade (which they are very proud of), ate some good crawfish and went to other activities that were going on around the town that is about 20 square blocks.

Crazy Stella (and Charlie)

I have decided to attach some video of my life with our dog Stella and her "crazy" spells (her growl sounds mean but she is super nice and playful). It keep Charlie and I very entertained especially since we dont' have kids. I hope you enjoy because Stella brings us lots of joy and a ton of laughter. Happy Sunday and I hope everyone has a great week!
