Iowa Rally

Charlie's pant got stuck to the chair

The first weekend of June, we went to the Iowa Rally in the Amana Colonies. We enjoyed a nice day of riding on Saturday and getting to meet some other riders in the area.

Working on the Motorcycle

Charlie is taking his bike apart in anticipation of receiving a new shock for his bike later this week that he will install himself. His bike is currently being held up by a strap hooked on the ceiling of our garage. I can't wait until the shock is installed so I can have our normal garage back!

Our Backyard Growth Part 3

BBQ Roundup

This weekend my parents were in town beginning on Thursday and we had the opportunity to go to BBQ Roundup on Friday for lunch. We sampled some delicious BBQ and enjoyed the nice weather.

Allergy Eye

Last week, I woke up in the middle of the night with hives all over my body that itched like crazy along with my swollen eye (pictured above) that I so lovingly called my "eye sac". I know I don't look very happy but please remember it was at 4 in the morning and this was only after I had been up for several hours itching my hives.
Luckily the hives went away and my eye eventually went down with the help of Benadryl but only after a couple other outbreaks. Now I just have to figure out what caused it.

My 29th Birthday!

On June 15th, I enjoyed the last birthday in my twenties! I had a great day at work with my co-workers from Albuquerque skyping me to sing "Happy Birthday" and in the evening, Charlie took me out for Sushi and ice cream. I know it sounds like a crazy combination but it was delicious.
I am looking forward to what the next year brings me and feel extremely blessed with everything that my 29 years have brought so far!

Our new roommate

Because of the flooding on the Missouri River, Randy and Karen (Charlie's Dad and Stepmom) had to evacuate their home in Dakota Dunes. I went there May 31 - June 1 and helped them pack up and move out their stuff just in case there house would become flooded. During this mandatory evacuation from their home, we have a new roommate. Randy is staying with us while Karen is staying in Sioux City since that is where her job requires her to be.
Luckily, as of this week, they have no water in their home and we are hoping and praying that it will stay that way. We are unsure of when they will be allowed back in their home but we are happy to be able to help out and have Randy stay with us.

Albuquerque

Jessica, Sofia and Hugo

The week of May 22nd, I was in Albuquerque because our Finance Coordinator was leaving and our payables and finance files were going to be centralized. While I was there, I had a ton of fun handing out with my co-workers and friends. I can't wait to go back again!

Work in the Garage

When I was home for the reunion and Tulip Festival, Charlie was at home doing some work in the garage. He took down some old cabinets, painted the wall and put up some storage shelving that holds a lot more than the old cabinets. We now have enough room to fit all of our garage items, two motorcycles, a work bench and the Subaru. Charlie did a great job!

11 Year Class Reunion

I have a lot of catching up to do so the next couple of posts will be doing just that. Attached are some pictures from our 11 year class reunion held during Tulip Festival (May 20). It was a great time and a lot of fun to see everyone again.

Everyday our backyard keeps changing a little bit with the new growth and flowers. Our neighbor says it is only going to get better and we can't wait.

First Motorcycle Trip of 2011

Today we took our first motorcycle trip of 2011. We decided to head to McGregor, IA to go to the Old Man River Brewery. On the way there, we stopped by Strawberry Point for a quick photo op and then continued on our way. McGregor was a beautiful town on the Mississippi river and we hope to go back sometime in the near future.
On our way back, we went to Pike's Peak State Park and looked at a great view of the Mississippi River. Beautiful day and beautiful ride!
